Sounds-Write for Year One 2023: Little Chatterbox Group
Summer Holidays are really long – why not ensure that your child remembers all the hard work from Pre-Primary by giving them a boost of knowledge before they head into Year One.
In this group, we will revisit:
- Sounds in the Initial Code (Units 1 – 7)
- Structures of Words (Units 8 – 10)
- Consonant digraphs (Unit 11) – Time permitting
A parent/ caregiver is required to attend all the sessions, as activities will need to be replicated in between sessions.
When: Wednesday 11th, 18th and 25th January 2023
Time: 9:30am – 10:30am

Moo-vers and Shakers 6-9 year olds: Little Chatterbox Group
Roar like a Lion, squeak like a mouse as we use animals as metaphor to gain a deeper understanding of our internal feelings.
This fun workshop gives children a safe place to explore the difference between thoughts, feelings and behaviours as we create a mindfulness glitter bottle and move, shake and dance around the room to music.
Your child will be introduced to the following skills to add to their toolbox:
• Understanding of the difference between emotions, feelings and behaviours
• Breathing techniques
• Self-regulation
• Mindfulness – tuning in to the moment
• Grounding techniques
ALL of this whilst having fun!
When: Wednesday 11th January 2023

Lego® Therapy 8 – 11: Little Chatterbox Group
A fun and interactive group for 8 – 11 year olds, using Lego® Based Therapy.
Lego® therapy groups incorporate evidence-informed play-based therapy that supports children’s social communication.
Whilst playing with Lego®, our certified Lego® Based Therapy Speech Pathologist will encourage your child to work on the following:
- Working collaboratively in a team
- Sharing and taking turns
- Listening skills
- Assertive speech
- Sharing achievements

This 2 hour workshop is for secondary school teachers who would like to learn more about Developmental Language Disorder
The workshop will cover:

- Developmental Language Disorder (DLD) – what it is, what it looks like in a classroom and how we diagnose it
- DLD and its connection to literacy (and therefore every other subject)
- Supporting a child with DLD in a mainstream classroom
- Q & A Opportunities
